Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! One of the best ways to celebrate the day of love is by sharing a great dinner and a glass (or two) of good, tasty, wine. Wine, for many years, has been synonymous with Valentine’s day, probably because in more ancient times it was one of the best ways for the love-lorn to gain enough liquid courage to profess their love. Or, maybe it also helped to soothe the soul if one found themselves alone around this time of year. Either way, the wine has been flowing on Valentine’s day for years and years and it’s time to check out some of the best places in and around Meridian where you can find the best wine that Idaho has to offer.

Tavern At Eagle Island

Tavern has one of the most sophisticated and romantic atmospheres in the whole Treasure Valley. They offer some of the best seafood and steaks as well, but the real kicker is their extensive wine menu. They have over 100 types of wine on offer either by the glass or by the bottle. Their wine menu is expertly put together and full of some of the most top of the line and mouth watering selections, like Beringer’s Private Reserve, Pepper Bridge Merlot, Quilceda Creek Cabernet, and Opus One “Red Wine” which retails for $365 per bottle. Have a huge appetite and check with your accountant before making reservations, but no matter the out of pocket spend at Tavern, you’ll walk away feeling like a million bucks.

Divine Wine, Cork & Fork

Voted the “Best Place For Wine” by the Meridian Press in 2017, Divine Wine, Cork & Fork is truly where elegant food and exquisite wine collide. They consistently get great reviews for both their food, their service, and their wine. Here are a few taken from around the web:

“The wife and I were given the recommendation from another restaurant owner. Naturally we had to try it. The chef and ambiance were excellent. The chef oversees all meals. The wine selection was excellent. They make one of the best Creme Brulee's that I have ever had. The service staff was prompt and attentive. Very nice place to eat.”

“I was so lucky to get a chance to eat at this place! We had their filet mignon, and it was cooked to perfection! The wines were not bad either! Either sold by the glass, or bottle, it was a haven for good food and wine! I wish I could have hung out longer, because the staff and owners are really fun! Highly recommend!!!”

You don’t have to take our word for it! Try Divine Wine, Cork & Fork for yourself this Valentine’s Day season.

Bodovino At The Village

How could we have a wine and food recommendation list without mentioning one of the all-time best places to spend time in Meridian? Bodovino at The Village of course! They have one of the most state of the art wine dispensaries in the West and a fantastic atmosphere to boot. Whether you’re there waiting for your movie time to start or just enjoying apps and drinks with friends, Bodovino is one of our favorite places to visit in The Village.
